4 out of 7 done

If you have forgotten I am in the midst of about 7 dentist appointments to get my teeth back into working order. Today was appt. #4 and for me the most dreaded. I had 2 cavities fixed and 1 wisdom tooth pulled. The wisdom tooth was the reason for my dread. It only took about 15 minutes from start to finish but the pressure put on my jaw and tooth were amazing. I am shocked my jaw bone could stand under the pressure but it did and now I have a wisdom tooth the size of a car to show off to my children. Not to mention the fact that I have a whole in my mouth that size as well.

I felt pretty good about the whole procedure upon completion. I had been warned by the doctor and the nurse to be cautious not to get a dry socket and they proceeded to tell me how to care for my "wound". I felt good until I dropped Miles off at school and most everyone I encountered cautioned me about getting rest and that I should be home and not talking and even some were shocked I was out and about. This leads me to believe that either I am tougher than I thought or when the "deadening medicine" wears totally off ---I will be in a world of hurt. I hope I can be tough and I am going to actually follow all the directions the dentist gave me --this is not common practice for me!

Anyway, it is done. Oh yeah, appointment #7 will be with the oral surgeon to take out my other lower wisdom tooth:)

You'll be fine. Just have some pain medication on hand. I had 3 pulled and then went shopping for a wedding dress. I have also known people who were in a world of hurt. Just do what your dentist said and should be in good shape. I am proud of you for going through with it- you'll be glad you did.

Sandy - I hate to be critical but I hope you meant "hole" and not "whole" in your mouth. I love reading your blog - it makes my day when I open it up and you have written - you are so funny and bring me so much joy. I love you - MOM
